Carolyn is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and vocal coach who has taught music and singing since 2006. She works with complete beginners and experienced performers, helping each student explore what they want to do with their voice.
From making music
to sharing it.
Carolyn grew up singing with her family and studying piano, violin, and voice. Her musical roots include classical music, folk, and bluegrass; her studies have also taken her into jazz, musical theatre, and opera.
Her first collection of original songs was released in 2016, produced by Benji Marx.

Sharing the joy.
Learning to sing has helped me connect with my inner voice and express myself as an artist. Developing my voice has given me a way to share my ideas and music with the world, and to feel more connected to who I am.
That experience is part of why I teach. I love helping people discover what their voices can do, and seeing the joy, laughter, and connection that singing brings into their lives.
Some of my favorite moments arrive after a student has been working patiently for a long time. A technique clicks, a new possibility opens up, and they can do something they have never done before.
